About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To live, learn, and explore as much as I can every day.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 22-year-old recent college graduate who's about to embark on a road trip from the West Coast to the East Coast, where I'll be staying for the rest of the summer before heading back for graduate school. I'm a Computer Science major who loves whiling the day away reading books on programming practice and methodology, as well as working on little side projects of my own devising from time to time. I'm also an avid singer and still somewhat of a pianist (though I should probably practice more if I want to stop forgetting everything I used to know). Furthermore, I've been known to head outside and kick a soccer ball around from time to time.

PHILOSOPHY

Ha, this might be too intense for me to answer right now. I'll update if I can think of something.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I still new to couch surfing, but I'm excited to try it for the first time during my upcoming road trip from the West Coast to the East Coast. I initially heard about the site from a friend who couch surfed on his trip from Texas to California and back again, and he was at no loss for eventful, entertaining stories from his adventures. I hope I can gain a few stories of my own on my trip!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

No experiences yet, hoping to start having some as soon as possible.

Interests

I've amassed a pretty sizable list of "interests" over the years, ranging from the deepest of passions to the littlest of appreciations. Here are some:

bicycle bells that go "brrrrrring", the concept of rubato, eye contact, Stanford's perfect weather, Stanford's rainy weather, doubling down, feng shui-ing my room, the meaty goodness of spaghetti bolognese, both being and not being stuck in puddles until 7am, sharing secrets, resorting to dress socks on laundry day, stargazing, considering the validity of conspiracy theories, harmonizing to songs on the radio, the 'p' in "raspberry", the little details that girls put into their appearance, getting packages in the mail, the unicode character set, rags-to-riches stories, the 9-syllable results on rhymezone.com, orange tic-tacs, death metal song titles, hearing native Hawaiians pronounce "Hawaii" correctly, falling asleep to culturally and scientifically explorative podcasts, exchanging messages that are the textual equivalent of shnuggling, how "sacrilegious" and "religious" are virtually opposites but aren't etymologically related in any way, that time my nose fell off right before we sang "oops", smiling at strangers, orchestral scores backing footage of the universe, watching highlight reels of pro athletes when they were young, eating the end pieces on a loaf of bread, sending well-formatted emails, songs that have "moment" in the title, the ubiquity of the Fibonacci sequence in nature, when my dog yawns, one-click purchasing, double first names, that time I saw a "Babies 'R Us" with the 'i' bulb burnt out, discovering mutual friendships, the feeling in your feet after you tie your shoes, Colonel Hathi's march, reading my old text conversations and realizing how stupid my sense of humor is, and of course, long roads and happy endings, which make everything else worthwhile.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: Aside from more typical pop/rock artists, I have a particularly guilty pleasure for The King's Singers, Pentatonix (a recent obsession), and a number of barbershop quartets and choruses

Movies: soooo many

Books: I haven't had a chance to read many novels as of late, and I certainly don't want to admit that my web development books are among my favorite...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once swam to a shipwreck half a mile out into the Gulf of Mexico, cut myself on a barnacle when I got to it, and then swam back exhausted with a bleeding finger through typically shark-infested waters. In retrospect, it was amazingly terrifying. Not to mention amazing dumb.

Teach, Learn, Share

Gosh, I've never really itemized the knowledge I can offer to the world. Let's just say that I love teaching people how to sing together, and I might toss an occasional pun into the conversation.
