ABOUT ME

Sports fanatic who will watch and play anything that involves a ball, especially cricket and football. I spend most of my spare time involved in sport in some shape or form.
I studied Spanish and Portuguese at university and have taught Spanish so I love the chance to interact with others in either of those languages, and learn about new cultures.

PHILOSOPHY

I live in the present, not worrying too much about the future. My logic is that at the moment I have time on my hands but not money but in the future, hopefully I'll have more money but probably not the time to spend it as I wish. Therefore, I might as well spend money I don't have now and enjoy being young and free and try and pay it back later. Not what the bank manager wants to hear but hey, they haven't exactly been brilliant for us recently have they?!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Happy to host whenever I'm around, and recently hosted my first CouchSurfer which was great fun. As an addicted traveller, keen to see as much of the world as possible and have found CS to be the best route to get to know a place more intimately.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have CouchSurfed in Athens, Georgia and South Africa and have also been a host twice. All the experiences were brilliant and I look forward to doing more and more of it. How else would I have ended up "pool-hopping" or playing wiffleball?!

Interests

Anything that involves a ball, especially cricket and football (or should I say "soccer" for any American readers).
Languages and Cultures- I jump at any opportunity to chat in Spanish or Portuguese and discovering about countries' culture and geography. (Sad I know, but I love testing my geographical knowledge on Sporcle.com- give it a go if you haven't already and if you have, you know exactly how addictive it is!)

I enjoy my music too having been a radio show host in both Chile and England, "The BritHop Show" and "International Superhits" respectively.

Music wise, I'm a Britpop fan at heart but listen to anthing going. However, I hate it when people say they have "an eclectic taste"!
Reading wise, I enjoy travel writing and books on the history of sport.

Teach, Learn, Share

Can offer a language exchange, English for either Spanish or Portuguese. Used to be handy at both of them but time away from the Spanish and Portuguese-speaking world has made me rusty once again.
