About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm a pretty mellow guy. I like to read books and articles in journals. I love watching films. I like to play board games in my free time as well as cook.

I love to travel and so far have kept mostly close to home. I traveled a lot back home in Washington and British Columbia. The winter of 2011/2012 I spent 3 weeks travelling around Korea and seeing all the major sites and cities.

In 2013 I spent 3 weeks in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau.

In 2014 I spent 23 day traveling around Japan.

In 2015 I traveled Korea again.

In 2016 I returned to the US after 5 years overseas.

PHILOSOPHY

Learn from mistakes and enjoy life. We don't know if it is once or forever so move forward and take in all the experiences you happen upon.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I joined CS originally as a way to meet the few travelers who were visiting my small city in Korea.
however it rural location meant not many people came. Now I'm planning to host once I am established again in the US.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far, but I am hoping for some new friends and new experiences.

Interests

Movies, Photography, Cooking, Board Games, Reading, and site seeing.

I dabble in Photogrpahy on and off. I am slowly working on improving my photography and my range for composition.
Most books and articles I read are non-fiction. I'm rather academic in my reading.
I really love Korean cinema, but unfortunately upon arriving in Korea I found my city without a cinema and with limited access to Korean films with English subtitles.

My biggest hobby is board games.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love the Korean films. My favorite being the Western "The Good the Bad and The Weird". Other Korean films I love as well are "Lady Vengeance", "I saw the Devil", "8 Iron", "Address Unknown" and many others.

I like classic and alternative rock music, some slow rythmic rap music, and anything classical.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I hiked through a rain forest for 2 hours, happened upon the ocean and got to watch whales and seals play.
