About Me
After working the same corporate job in the US for the last four years I quit in December and have decided to do some extended solo traveling. I'm very interested in non-traditional community models - collectives, intentional communities, communes, etc; I guess even couch-surfing itself could be form of non-traditional community. One of the goals of this trip is actually to try to explore these types of communities in different parts of the world and see how they work and do not work and would love to meet and stay with others who are interested in or part of something like that.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because life is better when it's filled with amazing, diverse, interesting people and couchsurfing seems like a great way to connect with people and cultures and communities that I probably would never be able to encounter any other way.

Music, Movies, and Books
Tolstoy, Tolkien, Douglas Adams, Any book about history or language that I can find. I love any (but not all) music but really enjoy playing music when I can. Guitar is my instrument of choice, but can manage on drums if I'm allowed to. I also just picked up a ukulele in Athens and have it strapped to my backpack, I promise not to annoy you with it unless you ask me to.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Guided a river raft through a 40,000 acre forest fire once.
