I live in Piestany, which is a resort spa town in western Slovakia, located 45 minutes east of Bratislava, just off the D1 highway and with direct east-west train line access. The town has a population of 30,000 and has adequate shopping, tourist activities, inexpensive eateries and a relaxed atmosphere. Easy onward travel to Budapest, Krakow, eastern Slovakia, Brno, Prague, Vienna by train or car.
