One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

When I was 13 or 14 my family visited friends in Florida. The house we visited was set below sea level, so there was a three-foot wall at the edge of the property you could step onto and be at the beach. Some baby sea turtles had hatched in the sand hundreds of feet away, toward the ocean, and must have followed street lights or something away from the water. They fell over the edge of the wall onto this dude's yard. I spent the afternoon picking up hundreds of baby sea turtles and running them into the waves.

Totally dreamy.

Then there was this time when I lost my turquoise ring in the Atlantic Ocean and my best friend found it 3 or 4 months later. That was also dreamy.
