ABOUT ME

I am a restless spirit, but can feel at home wherever I may end up. I'm generally laid back, but always up for fun. Drinks with good friends or movies on the couch are equally exciting to me. I'm a musician and a thinker, though I confess, I tend to keep most thoughts to myself unless asked. I tend to shrug off limitations and fears, for better or for worse, and try to follow my heart in all decisions. I am accepting of all people and personalities and hope to see as much of the world and meet as many good folks as I can before I finally go...

PHILOSOPHY

I live for the heart, not the mind. I believe all people should see as much of the world as possible and get out of their comfort zones as often as possible. I believe in the arts and quality education, the global pursuit of happiness, and a healthy curiosity in the unknowable.

Interests

I am currently completing an undergraduate degree in Medieval Studies at the University of Georgia and will be pursuing a graduate degree in Celtic/Medieval Studies as well. I like to read about ancient history, mythology, and literature, learn foreign languages, travel, and play the drums. I love movies, good food and drink, lots of music, and the outdoors. Until deciding to go back to school my life revolved around the drums. Recently I have dedicated myself to my studies and hope to pursue a career in the field, but if that doesn't necessarily happen, I'll still be breathing, right? No stress, only living.

Music, Movies, and Books

Love most horror movies made before the 1990's, can't stand too much CGI though. Love comedies, documentaries, action movies (even the bad ones), books of ancient poetry and mythology, the Mabinogion, Y Gododdin, horror novels, heavy metal and death metal, jazz, rock and roll, folk music, and open to just about anything else.
Favorites are Cannibal Corpse, Iron Maiden, Slayer, Brutal Truth, Absu, Leonard Cohen, Bill Callahan, Bob Dylan, Naked City, Miles Davis, Mclusky, Pavement, Dinosaur Jr., Mahavishnu Orchestra, WEEN (can't emphasize that more...love Ween), Gary Numan, DEVO, Sex Pistols, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Misfits, Black Witchery, Dead Prez and too many others to list. Oh yeah, I have an undeniable soft spot for 80's new wave and yacht rock. Diversity is a must.

I want to improve the quality of my own life by exposing myself to the world around me. I hope that one day I can improve the lives of others through education and art. I believe in facilitating real and positive communication between cultures and promoting the spread of all types of knowledge and art across the globe.
