About Me

Hello!

I am from Camp Hill, Pennsylvania. Since graduating high school, I attend Juniata College in Pennsylvania where I study politics and French. I am currently studying abroad at in Albi, France for a semester, after which I will go to Strasbourg, France to do an internship.

I love to talk to new people. I have played collegiate, club, and high school soccer. I loved participating in Mock Trial.

I am on a quest to discover more of the world and how best to live a life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is an alternative to staying in a hostel or an AirBnB, but Couchsurfing also offers the opportunity to connect with people in a different, hopefully meaningful way. There is a wealth of experience within the lives of people other than ourselves, especially with those who were raised in different cultures and societies than our own. Couchsurfing provides a glimpse into another world.

This does not necessitate that Couchsurfing yield these results, but only that it offers more potential for gaining an authentic perspective than do other types of lodging.

Interests

I am interested in any kind of art, whether it be a museum or a live performance of some kind. I love trying new kinds of food, but also learning to cook them as well. I love anime, specifically stuff like Attack on Titan, Black Clover, Naruto, etc.

When I solo travel to a new place, I like to search up good locations to visit and then set out early in the morning and walk all over the city.

I have learned through my experiences abroad that good things come to those who walk.

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:

My favorite book, if we are taking fiction, would be a series called the Stormlight Archives by Brandon Sanderson. His writing and world building are fantastic. As for non-fiction, I would say it is For a New Liberty: The Libertarian Manifesto by Murray Rothbard.

Music:

I vary what I listen to a lot. Really into anything in French right now. I generally like Alternative Rock, some rap, and some older rock like Genesis.

Movies:

I took a French Cinema class once. I loved Les Enfants du Paradis, La Haine, et Delicatessen. I liked Once Upon a Time in Hollywood a lot. Joker is my new favorite film. Christopher Nolan is one of my favorite directors with films like Memento, Inception, Dunkirk, and The Dark Knight. I love quality films.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Completed a Spartan Race Super: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b1jKva1nvyM&t=288s

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: American politics, political theory, the life of an American college student, my life perspective, soccer (football), stoicism, and more

Learn: anything and everything (I like cooking a lot)!

Share: my way of life, my way of thinking, my stir-fry cooking skills (they aren't half bad), and my personality! I am easy to get along with.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook moderately well (I have been working on improving my skills). I'll probably have my hard drive with me that has some *legally purchased* movies, animes, tv series, and books on it. A little USB action never hurt.

But really, I have a lot to offer the world and I think that getting to know another human should be enough.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Hungary, Spain, Switzerland

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, United States
