I am trying to become more active in the CS community because of all the positive, exhilarating experiences I have had with it.

Presently, I just finished my Masters of Education (May 2015) and am planning to spend the next several years teaching social studies. It's the study of people! I love learning about people, talking about them, seeing how we have developed...and regressed, making connections, working towards social justice.

Here's a smattering of interests, do we have anything in common?
I really like sitting on porches, patios, and balconies - open-air, just enjoying the environment - bonus points if you can see mountains, ocean. I love to travel solo or in small groups - it's so much easier to get involved with place, people and culture that way. I love to cook - fancy meals, not fancy meals, for myself, for big groups. I try to learn something new from every surfer because each individual has so much to share. Hiking and camping are favorites that I need to do more. Favorite sports to play now are tennis, ultimate frisbee, soccer (football!), softball. I'm always down to try something new, whether it is a restaurant, bar, activity, food, or to see something that you find extremely fascinating.

The world is so much bigger than my own country and there is so much I can learn by leaving it to explore.

Best time by far was also my first time - stayed on a sailboat with a very gracious and wonderful person, moored off the shores of Tahiti, French Polynesia.
