30 year old professional event planner and my 35 year old restaurant manager boyfriend are both Virginia natives. We have lived together in Arlington with our two 7 year old Boston Terriers until recently, when we decided to take to the open road in search of experiences, adventure, and possibly a new home. We are low key, outdoorsy people, who love to explore new towns by walking or biking whenever possible, looking for fun things to do, and then finding a good cocktail or some live music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My boyfriend, Michael, and I have been in our corporate jobs since college. Just recently we decided to give ourselves a mid-life adventure rather than waiting for retirement, after both of our careers seemed to be hitting a lull at our current companies. We moved our belongings into storage, put our bikes on the SUV and hit the road with our 2 pups and our tent. We have been alternating between camping and some hotels, but had a great couchsurfing experience at the beginning of our trip!

We hope to make this adventure a learning and growing experience; not just vacation. We hope to learn about ourselves, each other, and about each person we pass along the way. We hope to volunteer, work odd jobs, and remember that we are a part of this life, not just spectators! We were inspired by other people's stories of travel and life and we hope to create some of our own. Sometimes the best memories are created by chance and struggle and we are looking forward to all of it!
