See as many things, places, people, events as possible and record as much of it as I can in order to share it with those who won't have the same opportunities. Also, to try and discover if there is any food better than potatoes on this great Earth.

I'm Colleen.

Languages make me happy. I like to think about them, I like to think in them. I want to know how things are said in a different language and how it differs from my own. I want to know why it's different in the first place, or how in the world people can manage to make some speech sounds. It's all wonderful, and anyone who likes language is a friend, indeed.

PHILOSOPHY

I think the best way to get through tough or upsetting situations is by taking a step back, breathing, and trying to put it into the perspective better suited to it.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flying to Rome, Italy when I was 14 and seeing the sunset all around me: the sun in front, the variance of colors over me, and the darkening sky behind me.
