About Me

disguise myself as a Henan-ren

I acknowledge the importance of writing a profile. It's just I have absolutely no idea how to describe myself... I suppose you could say I like people and life. At least most of the time. I think I'm a simple person, most of the time as well. Sometimes I love life and dislike people, sometimes it's vice versa, and sometimes, as facebooks puts it, "it's complicated". Nothing extraordinary in short. On the other hand, what's the point of telling everything before we even meet? Feel free to ask anything more you'd like to know:)

It's a topic that usually gets me all rambling and boring...so it's probably best to skip this!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

Surfing and hosting until recently, when I still had super cool flatmates in Beijing. Of course now I've moved out so I can't really host anymore. but I can let you visit a kungfu school in Dengfeng if you're interested.

A friend and I went to Madrid together in 2008. Everything was very unorganised, wth almost no money and no real idea where to sleep.
Yet, somehow it all turned out great, and we ended up eating spaghettis in a houseful of great company at 4am, after having spent the evening at the opera. That was unexpected, yet really good holidays.
That was my first CS experience. That's how it all started.

For one year, I've been mostly interested in China: its very unique atmosphere, weird mix of energies, discipline, cynicism, quest for meaning and general chaos. I very selfishly find my life here amazing, as it is filled with wonderful people and new experiences I'm very busy learning from. At the moment, I'm into learning Chinese, as I'm just starting to be able to meet Chinese people with the original soundtrack.

Music, Movies & Books

Anything you can bring! I don't know how to get knowledge by myself apart from stealing it to someone else.
My advice, Ma Jian, Beijing coma, totally changed my views over China and its people. Somehow I still believe everyone who wants to come visit China should read this book.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

At the moment I'm living in a kungfu school, getting humiliated by 6 years old kids on a daily basis (here is how you do the splits, see?)

Countries I've Visited

Austria, Croatia, Germany, Greece, Italy, Mali, Morocco, Spain, Tunisia

Countries I've Lived In

China, Ireland, United Kingdom
