About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to try as many new things in my life as I can, see the world from different angles, and learn more about the universe around us.

ABOUT ME

Hi everyone. I'm Autumn Rhodes, and I live in San Francisco, CA. I play wooden flute, tin whistle, uilleann pipes, and concertina in several bands, including Soltre, Bardic Apostles, Slaggy Maggie, Meitheal, Mira, Na Cailini, and a few others. My music is mostly traditional Irish, but I do venture into jazz, classical, Breton, folk, and Bulgarian/Romanian music. Between gigs, I am a college student. I'm doing a dual major in ethnomusicology and anthropology, with a minor in Celtic studies. In other words, I have a future flipping burgers. Incidentally, I am a horrible e-mail correspondent. Your best bet is to reach me via AIM; send me a message if you want to obtain my screen name. Good luck!

PHILOSOPHY

I believe that the more we know about others in the world, and the more we experience, the more we can make the world a better place.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Gosh, I don't know. I played on stage with the Chieftains and have played concerts for a few world leaders.

Teach, Learn, Share

I teach music (uilleann pipes, flute, tin whistle, concertina) and sing in Irish and in English. I can bake and make curries, and know quite a bit about Amish-Mennonite culture and traditions, can make copper wire jewelry and can knit (very) badly.
