Overview
About Me
I'm a fairly cheerful, reasonably smart, seriously sarcastic musician from Ireland.
I moved around a lot as a kid, spent ten years in the Netherlands while I was a teen (I have really good timekeeping now), and moved back to the home country to go to university.
That didn't really work out so I went to college instead, studied fashion, worked in a few offices and shops and cafes and then quit my job to be a full-time musician.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I want to travel the world playing my music and sharing my stories. I don't mind hostels when I'm travelling but I don't really ever make friends there. It always feels like everyone is just there to either catch a flight or get drunk. So couchsurfing is a nice cheap way to travel that I'm hoping will help me make friends the world over.
Interests
I love music and crafts. Like, any music, any crafts. I play Irish trad and I sing folk music, but I love rap and rock and metal and broadway and Disney songs. Kind of meh about Jazz but I'm open to suggestions.
Crafts is the same kind of thing. I sew, I make clothes, I embroider, I can bore your socks off about traditional Irish lacemaking. But I love learning about new crafts too so if you make stuff please tell me how you make it. Or teach me how to make it.

Music, Movies, and Books
Terry Pratchett. He is ... just the best. Also Tom Sharpe, fantasy books, Ben Elton, books about interesting stuff (facepaint by Lisa Eldridge anyone?).
Also Harry Potter, Rivers of London series, Neil Gaiman.
I love dumb action movies and animated movies. I'm a simple creature.
Folk music. I love lots of different genres, but English and Irish and Scottish folk music is my love and abiding passion. Have also been known to get down to electroswing and techno.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met a girl at work and we got chatting and I ended up making her wedding dress by hand. It took me 8 MONTHS and nearly killed me. But she's one of my best friends now and it was pretty amazing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you all about embroidery, Irish lacemaking, and how to cook fish fingers wrong. I'm told that shouldn't be possible but I actually cannot cook them properly. I get impatient.
I can also teach you some pretty cool folk songs and will share my music happily.
I would love to learn stories. Folk tales, fairy tales, new songs, like any craft at all. Also how to cook fish fingers.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Music, talking, all of the things I mentioned above, more talking... not gonna lie, I talk a LOT.
