About Me

New Zealander currently living in Paris, I took the year off from school to kinda do something different and in many ways fucking mad and so I'm here and it's amazing. I want to make the most of being in Europe by traveling as much as possible and I would love to partake in couch surfing to meet others who share my passion for discovery.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Exciting way to meet others and make friendships which can hopefully be continued one day if my hosts come to New Zealand when I return!

Interests

I love to cook, hike, bike, swim, stroll, converse, debate, dance, write... I love going to markets, museums, concerts, jazz bars & the cinema
I also love coffee to the extent that I often plan my travels around local cafes that I want to visit
I also love dogs, even bichon frises 😜

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: depends on the mood, but I love anything that I can listen to with a group of friends with food and a few drinks. Specific musicians that I like include The Strokes, David Bowie, The Cure, The Clash, Tame Impala, The Kinks, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Beach House and The Smiths
Movies: anything that isn't an adaption of a Nicholas Sparks novel but again specific films that I have watched recently and liked are The Lobster, Mustang, The Grand Budapest Hotel, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Les Intouchables and American Psycho
Books: I'm reading the invisible man atm and it's amazing

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Snorkeling on the Great Barrier Reef or visiting Ha-long bay in Vietnam at sunrise OR being followed by a documentary film crew in New Caledonia for 10 days - not all together enjoyable, mostly humiliating as I somehow ended up singing the batman theme tune to the camera (do not ask, I have spent the last two years wondering the inevitable why, still no answer) but definitely memorable and it helped make me one of my closest friends so I can look back and laugh and just hope that the YouTube footage gets forgotten and lost in the dark depths of the Internet...

Teach, Learn, Share

I would love to cook for/with my host (unfortunately there isn't really a New Zealand cuisine to share with you) and of course learn phrases of your language and hear your local tips. I can definitely offer my knowledge of my home country to any hosts who may be interested in visiting New Zealand or Paris. For the former, I know where to find the clearest water, the clearest night skies and the best, inexplicably deserted, beach sunrise in the country.
