About Me

I'm travelling for a year starting September 2nd 2024; I'll be making my way through Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. After that I'll hopefully be in graduate school somewhere in the Northwestern United States. I will probably do some couch surfing at some point, and I thought its good to be reciprocal, and host some couch surfers!

I enjoy trying new things, I'm currently relearning how to sing and play the guitar. I've also taken up drawing (I'm very bad though). I enjoy going to concerts; I'm going to a music festival in Germany in the late summer. I also have been to about 1/3 of the bars in Boston! I do a lot of running and lifting as well; I like to stay active. I tend to cook most of my own meals, though I have been to a decent amount of restaurants in the area.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm looking to host a couple couch surfers this Summer so I can give back to the community once I become a couch surfer. I think its an excellent way to meet people local to an area; though I love hostels, one problem I've noticed is its harder to truly immerse yourself in a local culture. Plus, someone from the area knows all the best spots and things to do!

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a big fan of rock and Metal, though I do branch out a little every now in then. I've dabbled in some Hip Hop, EDM, Blues, Folk, Indie, and some others. My current favorite bands are Rush, Opeth, and Katatonia. I'm currently listening to ISO, a hip hop artist.

Unfortunately, I don't have as much time as I used to to watch movies. The last one I watched was Dune 2. It was excellent. I used to be into Fantasy and Science Fiction films. In high school, I was even part of a Film Club, though we mostly watched very strange and esoteric art films.

I don't get around to reading as much as I like. I did used to read mostly fantasy, science fiction, and historical fiction back in the day. The Lymond Chronicles by Dorothy Dunnet were quite good. Sharon Kay Penman also wrote some decent books. I have read Lord of the Rings and Game of Thrones, along with Hyperion. In all honesty though, its been so long since I've read regularly, I can't recall most of what I've read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

To a lot of people, graduating with a bachelor's is easy. However, I'm still amazed I graduated in spite of what life threw at me. I had just returned to college in Spring 2020 from a lengthy hiatus, and still managed to graduate with the pandemic starting!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not really sure what this section is supposed to be about, so I'll just wax poetic. Believe in yourself. Don't let anyone else tell you can't do something, including yourself.

What I Can Share with Hosts

You can use anything in the common areas. Things in people's rooms are off limits though.
