About Me

I'm from the U.S. (Illinois and Connecticut), but I recently moved to Washington D.C. to work for the Congress after bouncing around various states in the Northeast working on political campaigns.

I'm a laid back and carefree soul who's always up for a new adventure.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have always been interested in traveling, but never really mustered the courage to do it. Now that I have some money and some time, I'm going to explore as much as I can and this seems like the perfect way to make the most of those experiences. Always love to meet new and interesting people at home, so maybe I can host you in my lovely D.C. row-house.

Interests

Outdoorsy/active things: hiking, biking, kayaking, tennis, etc.

I have an unusual knowledge of baseball history. Name the year and I can tell you the facts!

I love TV comedies and live comedy. My favorites include The Office, Arrested Development, VEEP, Delocated, Portlandia, Comedy Bang Bang, and so many others. I've seen Louie CK, Bill Burr, Steven Wright, Reggie Watts, and many hilarious amateurs live.

History and Politics. Anytime I visit a new place, I'm immediately drawn to the history of its people and its culture. I am progressive by American standards, but I accept political views of all kinds as long as you're respectful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I was a classic rock buff growing up in high school, but honestly, music is not a big part of my life.

Movies: Comedies like Little Miss Sunshine, Wet Hot American Summer, and Oldschool. Anything by the Coen brothers.

Books: Historical non-fiction, mostly. Doris Kearns Goodwin is one of my idols.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I once mistook a jellyfish for a necklace and got a pretty bad sting from it.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: I teach the U.S. citizenship test to immigrants in my free time, so I can tell you all about that.

Learn: Cooking. Please teach me how to prepare some cool dishes if you can.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A good laugh!
