About Me

I am a Tennessean, was born in Nashville, moved to Knoxville for school and I've been here ever since. My wife and I got married in the summer of 2013.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea behind couch surfing. I'm rarely in a position to offer hosting, and have not yet taken the opportunity of surfing any couches, but I think the ability to share something like a home is a special thing, and brings us all a little closer together.

Interests

I have a ton of interests, and will spend a lot of time talking about any of them with you! A few are listed below.

Pick-up sports (basketball, soccer, lacrosse, frisbee)
Homebrewing
Reading
Movies
Tinkering

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Lord of the Rings, particularly the books. I grew up with it from a young age, and it gave me a huge appreciation for Epic Fantasy. As such, I enjoy reading series like A Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones) and The Wheel of Time. Other favorite authors include George Orwell, Orson Scott Card, and Ray Bradbury.

For music, I have eclectic tastes. Folk, 70's progressive rock, classic rock, a bit of this, a bit of that. I do not enjoy rap, hip hop, or Top 40 kind of tracks.

I enjoy movies, mostly action/sci-fi, but it can vary greatly. One movie that has really stuck with me is Whiplash. I am intrigued by how intense and engaging it is, while being about such a seemingly boring subject matter.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Getting married definitely tops this list. What an adventure!

Other than that, probably what my friends and I dubbed "LeConte'thon." All 6 trails of Mt. LeConte (42 miles) in one day. I have definitely had many adventures, but that one sticks out as the most unique.
