I trained as a pianist until I was sixteen, before stopping to read literature and write. Literature, music and the arts generally are significant parts of my life.

Charles II of England had a favourite, George Villiers, who he made Duke of Buckingham. In honour of the newly appointed Duke the King named five streets off the Strand after him.
