CURRENT MISSION

I want to travel everywhere, perhaps starting with a road trip across the U.S once I graduate from college or maybe even teaching English as a foreign language abroad, starting in Thailand. Not sure yet, but I know I want to keep moving.

ABOUT ME

I'm 23, a full time student (in theory). I've lived all over Virginia, but have spent the last 3 years in Richmond. I love to read, draw, climb trees, bike, listen to music, pretend that I can actually play "music" on my guitar, cook, eat what I cook, eat what others cook, explore abandoned buildings and not so abandoned former mental institutions, and do absolutely anything outside. I recently lived and travelled abroad in western Europe, but I am itching to hit the road again, this time heading farther east. I love meeting new people who can teach me something and who also love to learn. I love meeting people who can offer different cultural, political and linguistic perspectives.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The only couch surfing experience I've had thus far is with friends and friends of friends, partly through traveling and partly because I had no where else to live. The generosity of others that I have experienced in my life has made me want to provide the same opportunities to friends and potential friends alike.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favorite movies are The Edukators, Good Will Hunting, Wildflowers, V for Vendetta, Death of a President, The United States of Leland and a few others. I'm an English major so my love of books is infinite. I couldn't possibly pick out a favorite because there are so many but to name a few; The Freedom Manifesto, Siddhartha, The Beach, Ishmael, The Dharma Bums, Smack, Culture Jam, The Hours, The Mole People, Life of Pi, Branded, etc. etc. Music is the same as books but a few current favorites are: Lemuria, The Riot Before, Pedals on Our Pirate Ships, Madeline Adams, Against Me!, Bob Dylan, Bomb the Music Industry, The Books, Built to Spill, Youth Brigade, Dan Bern, Crystal Castles, Desaparecidos, Neutral Milk Hotel, Minor Threat, Evan Greer, DJ Shadow, and Xavier Rudd.
