About Me
ABOUT ME
Born Bostonian. Novice New Yorker. Honorary Czech. Wannabe Brit. I've lived on two continents, traveled to three, and in five more years I will hopefully have hit every one but Antarctica (that may take some more time).
I'm a non-smoking, twenty-something civil servant by sunrise, saucy social critic by sunset. I teach teenagers with learning disabilities and I find my work rewarding and frustrating, but I love the challenge of it...most of the time.
I am new to couch surfing but a few friends have done it and persuaded me to give it a try. I am an extremely respectful, polite and quiet house guest (you can blame/thank my Irish catholic guilt complex that is the size of a small island nation for that).
I would love to pick your brain about favorite local spots, public transit directions and get to know you over a glass of wine or a hot beverage if your schedule permits. I can't wait to meet you!
Interests
I'm lucky enough to have summers off, so I try to spend that time seeing new places, learning new things, and meeting people like you. I'm not sure I could live without my toothbrush, music, passport, tea, large bodies of salt water and naps. Sometimes I think bacon and pickles should be added to this list. I adore a cup of tea, a good book, a greater conversation, and a thought provoking film.
When traveling I prefer to immerse myself in the culture as much as linguistically possible. When it isn't, people watching or meandering by foot or bike is preferable. I am fluent in English and international sarcasm and a beginner in Spanish.
