I grew up in the south west of England, where I still live most of the time when I'm not travelling. When my last proper job ended rather unceremoniously a few days after my 24th birthday I made the decision to spend as much time as possible outside, and to try to foster a greater connection to the seasons and to nature. A month later I began my first experience WWOOFing and since then I have made several beautiful new friendships and been welcomed into some wonderful communities.
I think of myself as a maker of things. If I go too long without engaging in some form of creative pursuit I will first become extremely restless and easily frustrated, then soon I will find myself up at 5 o'clock in the morning noisily sanding the fingerboard of a violin I have just spent the last 13 hours making from pie tins and old spoons (true story). I try to keep this under control by variously: drawing, whittling, sculpting, felting, inventing, building, carving, knitting, playing, deconstructing, improving and repairing things.
I am fascinated by nature and greatly enjoy the company of animals.
