About Me
yo name an outdoor-related activity and I'm in! Actually, name pretty much any to do, and I will be down. I have a hard time saying no when offered the opportunity for an experience of any kind...
I smile a lot and I really like stepping in mud and anything with lights and and climbing trees and admiring the stars! Oh and roadtrips are a lot of fun! Live music is the best kind of music.
I love doing anything outdoorsy and traveling ANYWHERE, ANYTIME let's goooo!! Hiking, camping, backpacking, etc. I'm easy-going, super adventurous, open-minded, blah blah blah like most couchsurfers, and to reiterate, am always up for trying new things, food included hehe :)
I'm a recent college grad who studied Environmental Studies (Ecosystems) and Geography Computer Applications in Human Environmental Analysis (GIS) in upstate New York. I'm extremely passionate about the environment and its wildlife, and am still trying to navigate my way through my vast range of interests within my awesome fields of study. Fun fact: my childhood dream was to be an entomologist!
I just want people to be happy, have fun, and enjoy life, you know? Corny, yeah ok, but fuck it, I mean it!
I always strive not to take anything for granted, even when shit hits the fan; this includes people and all the luxuries of my life.
Little bit on my background:
I was born in Zürich, Switzerland and raised in the suburbs outside New York City. I'm half-Swiss and half-Chinese.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
kind of a long story but...
so I heard about the site a couple of years ago, and while I always thought the idea was awesome, I was frankly always too skeptical and scared to actually try it out myself. Fast forward to this past March (2018), and my good friend and I find ourselves (happily) stuck in Houston, Texas for two days, as it was supposed to be our connecting stop between New Mexico and New York (home), but our flight was canceled due to a storm. At this point our budget was running low, and we were desperately seeping through the cheapest, last-minute Air bnbs. We end up connecting with a host on Air bnb who said his apartment complex restricts him from doing Air bnb, but that he was on Couchsurfing. He not only offered for us to come and stay, but offered us dinner and tips for exploring (since it was a weekday and he was too busy to explore with us). I was just so touched by his generosity and kindness and so forever grateful, I immediately went on to make an account myself in hopes of meeting other wonderful people such as him (Rohan in my friend's list).
One day when I have my own place I hope to be able to meet other amazing people and offer up my home and hearts to them as well!! :)

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite music is live music!! And I love listening to other peoples' favorite music.
But I have a particular love for electro indie, which combines two of the genres of electronic/EDM and indie, which I tend to lean towards.
But I listen to a variety of genres, and am always open to new music!
Some of my favorite bands include:
~Galantis
~Odesza
~Saint Motel
~Electric Light Orchestra
~Kygo
~Fleet Foxes
~Beat Connection
~Childish Gambino
~Dresses
........
I loooooveeee going to concerts and just dancing the night away!
I like movies (I mean duh, who doesn't?), but I really don't watch them very often. I only like watching TV/movies with other people, so whenever other people do it, I join in.
I'm so bad with movie titles... if you name a movie I can probably tell you if I've seen it or not.
Undercover Brother is my childhood fave and one of the funniest shits I have ever seen. I also cried laughing at Airplane. I like comedies! And documentaries!!
I am also really bad with books. The only ones that come to mind are the ones I was assigned to read in school... it's kinda sad. I really wish I made the time to read more books in their entirety!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Skipped my connecting flight to drive down to the path of totality to see a full solar eclipse in a national forest with a friend
Teach, Learn, Share
I just love learning about other people: their stories, their thoughts, their perspectives, their views.
I also really love learning about our world, everything and anything about it, especially regarding nature.
I think languages are so cool and love learning whatever I can pick up!
I can teach ya some German or Swiss German and about my eclectic mix of cultures!
