About Me
I guess the little paragraphs below wonderfully organize the topics describing who I am.
However, this space could serve as a short introduction. I am a typical Dutch tall young man. I am both open and closed. I love to share adventures and experiences but at times I like to withdraw with a good book. I am a creative person and I like to explore and trespass the boundaries of my current mental and physical context.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although I have registered a very long time ago, I have never regularly couchsurfed or hosted.
After recently having AirBnB'd for a while, I have lost interest in hosting a 'hotel', and gained interest in the personal touch and the value of exchange. As I recently moved to a house very appropriate for surfing, I hope to receive some people very soon!
As for surfing myself: when traveling around India I had a very good surfing experience. It was very nice to meet the local hosts, be introduced to local custom and cultures from a completely different angle than regular tourism or backpacking. At the same, I met many fellow surfers, whom I shared some longer parts of my journey with as well.
I am on couchsurfing for the personal connection at first, but I also believe in a more efficient way of sharing our physical world in its endless functionality.

Music, Movies, and Books
By far, musically, I enjoy LCD Soundsystem and everything related to Fela Kuti's afrobeat.
However, when driving: Lana del Rey's Blue Jeans RAC remix.
The last couple of books I have read are Rifkin's A Third Industrial Revolution, Ayn Rand's Fountainhead and currently Houllebecq's Possibility of an Island and Carolyn Steel's Hungry City.
Some books with amazing short stories I would recommend are: Sum, by David Eagleman and Einstein's Dreams by Alan Lightman.
As for movies. First. Wes Anderson. Besides that: I am always in for futuristic dystopias.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Burning Man.
Motorcycling around the mountains of the north of Vietnam.
