About Me

Travelling in Bulgaria and Romania between August 17 - September 10, 2018.

At times it feels that my life is shaped like a triangle: I keep my beloved ones close, to take a breath; I work with words to keep my mind and belly satisfied; and in order to keep myself, my dreams in sight, I travel to see and reach the wider world.
Since my studies in the social sciences, I have been working as a Policy analyst for the OECD in Paris, doing research and giving policy advice to cities and national governments.
Born and grown up in the southwest of Germany I lived, worked and studied in Barcelona (ESP), Berlin (GER), Krakow (POL), São Paulo (BRA) and Paris (FRA). I love travelling because it helps me to discover ‘other’ ways of doing things: cooking, feeling, talking, loving, worrying, and dreaming – to name but a few.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Travelling within the Couchsurfing network provides an enriching experience in this respect, and an opportunity of seeing different places ‘off’ the touristic map.

Interests

There are other things I enjoy doing in my life: like playing the guitar, doing Capoeira. I have a penchant for poetry and literature, theater and particularly street art. I love to cook and to experiment with familiar and exotic ingredients. There is hardly a day that goes past without listening to different styles of music. Since my time of community service in a school for mentally challenged kids I have been paying more and more attention to the little joy of life – like a lazy afternoon match of Tavla with a good friend and the sound of stirring sugar in the Çay; or the beautiful laughter lines around her eyes, when the woman I love starts to smile…
