About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Travel and volunteer in South America

ABOUT ME

Enjoying life outside of the US, volunteering and traveling around South America meeting awesome people and having an amazing time!

It is my hope that in the future I am able to work towards helping us better integrate our lifestyles with our planet; that I will in someway be able to help move society towards sustainable development; that I will find a way, working alongside others, to shift the current social, consumer, and bureaucratic paradigm from its current destructive state to one that places the environment, and the needs of future generations, equal with the energy and consumption desires of the current era - especially in my own country! Other than that, I just like to meet new people, explore and get to know new parts of the world, and share stories of traveling over good beer.

PHILOSOPHY

3 years after graduaing from college I quit my corporate job to start my own business. 3 years later on a whim I closed its doors to go volunteer & travel in South America, for an undetermined amount of time, on a shoestring budget and a handful of contacts.

Live today.

I also think it is essential to realize that everything you believe in, or choose not to believe in, is your choice. We all came into this place the same way and will leave the same way. No one has the corner on life’s meaning. It's an entirely subjective experience seen through subjective eyes - what seems absolute to you is only relative to another. My beliefs are my own, they’re what I’ve chosen, and no cell in my body or mind believe they are in anyway universal. I appreciate and respect the differences between people and places. I believe if you're fortunate enough to be born into a developed country, you should feel thankful not entitled. Always remembering that we ourselves did nothing special to make that happen.

Be open-minded.

Interests

Anything outdoors especially hiking, climbing, and surfing. Music. Being as far out of my comfort zone as possible. Trying to speak Spanish. Flight of the Conchords. Fixing things. 80's movies & music. Learning things from others. Teaching things to others. Building lasting relationships. First steps into new places. Not taking myself too seriously. Making up constellations. Cake. (Not in that order)
