2016 I moved from Minnesota USA to Jyvaskyla, Finland to pursue a PhD in cognitive science. I am currently a PhD candidate in the cognitive science & information technology program. My research aim is to better understand universal architectures and processes of neurological, psychological/behavioral, sociological and developmental phenomena, and put them to use in pedagogical and technological practice.

I figure at some point between my studies I will probably travel and make use of CouchSurfing, so why not offer my own couch in the mean time.

When I am not trying to unravel the mysteries of the human psyche, I am an average joe. Sometimes I go through art phases (last was making artistic short films on YouTube), sometimes I go through Netflix binge phases (last was Stranger Things), sometimes I go through video game phases (last was Monster Hunter X). I have some ideas for novels I playing around with. My interests are actually all over the place.

I have a one bedroom studio apartment with a pullout couch for guests. So not much privacy outside the bathroom. Also, the walls are kinda thin, so all volumes down after 11pm so as to not annoy neighbors.

My location is Kortepoja student village. Google it. Anything you need is in walking distance. Downtown is about half hour walk or less. There are buses that run everywhere.

I can offer to meet you when you arrive in Jyvaskyla, and show you around while you are here, maybe introduce you to some people I know. I am not an expert about the town, only lived here for about a year, but I know people who are experts :)
