About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Looking for my next adventure :)

ABOUT ME

I was born in Taiwan, but grew up in Vancouver, Canada. Then, I moved to Ontario for university.

Ever since I travelled after high school grad, I have been hooked! Unfortunately, I didn't get a lot of vacation time during university so now I am taking a gap year to look for more adventures!

I am a fun and friendly person to hang out with. Hope to meet you soon

PHILOSOPHY

“Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt” - William Shakespeare

"Living well is the best revenge" -George Herbert

"You cannot help men permanently by doing for them, what they could and should do for themselves" - Abraham Lincoln

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have recently started to travel in Europe and hope to meet wonderful people through couchsurfing to gain insight into the local culture!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am quite the independent traveler so I won't expect you to be my tour guide (though tips on where to eat / events that are happening would be nice). I am happy to roam around the city by myself if you're busy. That being said ,I would like to spend some time with my host to get to know your life story!

Some amazing experience so far: Going to a free music festival, walking around a village and dipping my feet in the lavoirs.

Music, Movies, and Books

I took a foreign film class last semester so I am intrigued by films from other countries. It's a good way to learn about another country
- All about my mother
- In the mood for love
- Infernal Affairs
- Cache

I am a big classical music dork. I blame it on my participation in a youth orchestra (I play the flute). But I also like to listen to tango, jazz and random bands (Pink Martini, Nouvelle Vague, etc)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

There were many moments that amazed me, but here is a taster.

1. Eating sushi at Ajisai (Vancouver, BC)
I love Japanese food so I am lucky that I grew up in a city that is well known for the quality of sushi. Ajisai is my favourite restaurant because of its superb quality and great value. I have never had a disappointing meal there. I highly recommend it to anyone who visits Vancouver, especially if you're a foodie like me!

2. River trekking (Elora, ON)
On a hot summer day, my friends and I went to Elora gorge in Ontario. It had rained a couple of days earlier and there was a natural waterfall that wouldn't be there normally. We stood/sat underneath the waterfall, which was an amazing experience.

3. Touring St. Paul's Cathedral (London UK)
St. Paul's Cathedral was magnificient in so many ways. Sitting in the church gave me a peace of mind and the beautiful architecture was breathtaking. The climb to the top of the dome was a personal feat (since I am scared of heights) and the view of London was spectacular!

4.Aiguille du Midi (Chamonix, France)
I didn't expect to be taken away by the beauty of the mountains (living near the Canadian Rockies), but the view was GORGEOUS!

Teach, Learn, Share

I am obsessed with food! I love to cook and eat. I can cook simple Chinese, Korean and Western food. It would be awesome if we can cook together!

I would love to learn about photography and art.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Japan, Singapore, South Korea, United Kingdom, United States
