About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Get back in the groove

ABOUT ME

This is not my first couch surfing rodeo, but I was out of the travelling game for too long and my account was deleted, boo. Oh well, back at it so here`s round II. I have done a lot of travelling and a lot of couch surfing. I like hiking, skiing, white water rafting, reading, music, film, getting lost and being too stubborn to ask for directions, playing sports badly but with great enthusiasm, history, puppies, cooking, comedy. I`m always up to make new friends and participate in whatever is going on- from weddings to building strawbale houses to crashing your little sisters birthday party, I`m down. I like couchsurfing because it gives me the chance to actually experience real life in a new place rather than watching it happen around me.

PHILOSOPHY

"life is a grand adventure or nothing at all" - Helen Keller

I can only imagine how much more of an adventure life is when you`re blind. Go Helen!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past, I participated by hosting fellow travellers on my luxurious pull out sofa. At times I have not been able to offer accommodation, but took couchsurfers on awesome day hikes in the colorado mountains-leaving them so exhausted they would have slept anywhere. I have done lots of surfing myself as well as attended some CS gatherings, most notably in Istanbul and near Basita, Corsica.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

One of the coolest experiences I had was being a date to a wedding in Bulgaria. My host was best friends with the Groom so I got to participate in a lot of the wedding party stuff like riding in the back of an old open top Jeep with the bride and groom as they drove around town honking their horn.
Another time, in Bosnia, the brother of my host was working on a land mine clearing crew at the ski resort where they had the 1984 olympics in Sarajavo-might have been a bad idea, but he took us on a drive up one of the slopes they had recently cleared ( it was summer) and we got to go explore some of the ruins of the Olympic facilities.
those are two cool things among many.

Interests

as listed above:I like hiking, skiing, white water rafting, reading, music, film, getting lost and being too stubborn to ask for directions, playing sports badly but with great enthusiasm, history, animals, cooking, comedy/humor. I also enjoy, exploring ruins, laying in the grass, taking part in local traditions/festivals, splitting wood and other wo(man)ly things,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have a lot of interesting stories. One thing I feel pretty good about is hiking to the top of the tallest mountain in Colorado this summer. 4,401meters, 14, 441ft. That`s definitaly not the most interesting or meaningful thing i have ever done but it was cool and a hell of a hike. If you want to really hear some stories I guess we`ll just have to meet up.
