ABOUT ME

Important Update: We are currently preparing to relocate to the UK in October 2009, after 11 years in Germany so as you can imagine we are quite preoccupied with all that. While we're still in Berlin, we're happy to provide help, information and tips whenever we can.

Hi there!

Couchkartoffeln is German for "Couch Potatoes". We like the nick name and we do spend rather a lot of time at home, however whilst at home we keep ourselves active on the PC/Internet most of the time. We are a fun loving married couple who have been together for 12 years. Andrea is German, 31 years old and Mark is British, 36 years old.

We currenly live in central Berlin - 1.9km from Berlin's Victory Column (Siegessäule).

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We hope to find interesting people who would like to couch surf with us in Berlin.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are very new to this and are just starting out on our voyage. Andrea's sister recently tried couch surfing in Germany and Holland and she thoroughly recommended it. So here we are - we hosted our first CouchSurfers, Jason & Corina, mid August and we enjoyed every minute of it!

Interests

We travel whenever we get the opportunity. Both love listening to music. Budding genealogists - both very interested in researching our family trees and helping others to do the same - Mark has managed to find direct line ancestors with 44 surnames going back 8 generations into the late 1700's and Andrea is not very far behind despite the fact that tracing German ancestors can be tricky due to the turbulent German history. We are both very good cooks who love to try different international foods. Our favorite dishes come from India, Pakistan and Asia.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Andrea has Bungee Jumped, Skydived, trekked America, seen U2 live. Mark lived in sunny Greece for half a season - truly amazing sceneries.
