ABOUT ME
I guess the starting point is when I decided to leave everything I had back home behind (end of 2006), to realise a dream I had as a kid: living in Australia. Best time ever down there, but I sadly had to go home after a year as the visa expired. 6 months break with family and friends in France... with a continuously growing appetite for travelling... So I managed to get a visa for Calgary, 3rd city of Canada. I've worked up there in the Hospitality Industry, as a bartender, server, doorman... and had enough of winter so realised another dream, backpacking all around Jamaica, which I did for a couple of months. I'm now stuck in Paris, maybe for a while, maybe not...

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Well to be honest my first concern was to get to know people who could host me in Jamaica. That's why I registered first! Now I've met amazing people through CS and I'm back home, let's say my doors are opened to people willing to travel and share experiences. Anyway, this website and the concept developed seem to perfectly match my lifestyle, so I might actively become part of the community in a near future.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
While backpacking in Australia I met many people along the way. I'll give only one example though, but relevant I think.
I met that canadian guy, Travis, in a backpack located in Magnetic Island, Australia (back in June 2007). We spent 4 amazing days up there together. Then he kept travelling while I went back to the Gold Coast. We exchanged contacts. On his way down to Sydney, 3 weeks after, I hosted Travis for a couple of weeks.
Then a year passes. June 2008. I got my visa for Canada. Guess who was the first person I met there? Yep, Travis... And guess who invited me to his marriage ;-)
