About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Havana, Cuba

ABOUT ME

I'm a hack philosopher and a lousy poet. I work as a freelance writer, which means I'm always broke. I've been traveling around for a number of years now, living in Salt Lake City, San Francisco, Anaheim, New Orleans, Santa Barbara, New York and everywhere in between.

I'm predictably unpredictable. I write ridiculous screenplays, short stories about things that make me laugh, and I balance it all out with serious topics like geoengineering and class war. I play in bands, shoot photos, and enjoy talking to pretty much everyone. I cut flowers out of people's yards and give them to girls--sometimes the girls appreciate it.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a miserable optimist.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Surfer more often than not, but host when it's available. I'm ready to be anybody's friend.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've been traveling for years, and it feels like decades. Often times I find myself figuring it all out on the fly, a tactic that puts me in interesting and unexpected situations. On the occasion when I do stay still long enough to host, everybody is welcome.

Interests

Writing, seeing, thinking, eating, being. My favorite color is ultra-violet. I like music, books, art and unpredictability. I strive to make legitimate human connections and to live life honestly. I think lightning is weird and believe Bigfoot is an alien android from a planet far, far away. I also like taco carts.

Music, Movies, and Books

Vonnegut, Twain, Miles Davis, The Ramones, Rambo: First Blood, Thorstein Veblen, Beach Boys, the book Catch 22, , Henry Miller, T rex., Ghostbusters, and on and on and on...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Kanye West's fashion show in Paris was pretty ridiculous. I mean, his style is wack, but the go-karts were awesome. Riding in a speed boat through the Louisiana bayou with French journalists right after the oil spill was weird too. Hoodstock 2009 in West Oakland ruled--look it up for real. Driving across country over and over again. Hostels in Amsterdam, pizza in Copenhagen, a holding cell in Manhattan, Dolores Park in San Francisco--everyday has the potential to be amazing.
