About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm on a mission from God...or you know, on a mission to find a spot where I can set up and be inspired by for a bit. Is this your city? Convince me ;)

ABOUT ME

I'm in a similar boat, it seems, as a lot of people in their twenties: I've got grand hopes, lots of ideals, and just haven't found exactly where to invest the energy yet. Thus, I'm traveling: gathering new experiences, meeting amazing people, and finding every day that the world opens up in incredible ways to you when you put yourself out there.

So, that's something about me.

Other things: I'm extremely laid back in most aspects of life, I like the people around me to be comfortable and happy. I'm pretty curious and like to see how and why things are. I usually find an outlet and a motivator for this curiosity via various forms of art, most namely, literature and music. I've been told I have a good sense of humor...and that seems appropriate, because I find a lot of things funny. I'm very interested in philosophy and anthropology. I enjoy engaging in honest conversations and I love to learn.

I'd hang out with me.

PHILOSOPHY

Experience everything: the most regrettable thing is only ever letting fear make decisions for you.

Live balanced and with love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Diving right in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've traveled across the country 3 times in varying circumstances and in other countries a bit as well.
While I haven't used couch surfing as my platform just yet, I've had plenty of experience being gifted with the generosity of others, often stranger, providing a place to stay, eat, shower, or just company for a bit. Those experiences have been wonderful and have taught me a lot about the reciprocal nature of generosity and the traveling life.

I also have many friends who host couchsurfers and their experiences have all been positive and in their stories, I've learned a lot about the beautiful experience of connection and providing for others that can be had.

Interests

I love finding stories: hearing and seeing them from people or just having a place give them up to you...they're there to find and they reveal themselves to everyone in a different way: Discovering and experiencing this over and over again is truly one of my main motivations and it explains why I'm a traveler, a writer, and a general explorer of the human experience.

I really like too many things to list here in an organized and effective manner: I am really into music; I appreciate all kinds and am currently learning the guitar. (I play the drums but they are not so easy to transport). I hope to start learning languages soon, Spanish being my first goal and then Czech (I hope to move back to the Czech Republic at some point). I love literature, philosophy, and psychology individually and for where they overlap; I find conversations centered around these things incredibly engaging.

I'm fascinated by the concept of culture.
I hope to learn more about natural healing and holistic therapies on all levels: I'd like to become a hobby herbalist.
I practice yoga and want to practice more Qi-Gong.
I try to meditate every day...but really I meditate a couple of times every few weeks...

Finally, I am trying to learn more about sustainable living, gardening, and just self-sufficiency in general. I've worked on an organic wine vineyard, as well as a few small organic farms and am hoping to do more in the furture. Living in rhythm with nature is when I'm happiest

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: On The Road, Cloud Atlas, You Shall Know Our Velocity, The Alchemist, more, more , more

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Traveling to the all places that I have in all the different ways that I have has been really amazing.

Driving across the USA in an RV that ran on used cooking oil-was merely one of those experiences: it was amazing and a true comedy of errors. Lots of fun stories from that time that I love to tell.

Teach, Learn, Share

See below for what I can teach.

I'm open to learning anything new!

For specifics though, I am currently trying to learn more about the following:

*Spanish language
*Medicinal herbs
*Natural Health
*Permaculture practices/ sustainable living
*Podcast creation
*How to Surf
*Qi-gong
*Martial Arts

What I Can Share with Hosts

I offer a bizarre mix of skills but am happy to share my knowledge with others:

I can proofread work, provide English lessons, and/or offer my writing services.

I can teach you how to mix some mean cocktails, as I'm a trained and experienced bartender.

I can teach you about Vipassana Meditation, or other, techniques, which I have experiencing practicing (I've attended a 10 day retreat in the past ) and teaching.

I've also taught fitness classes and yoga previously.

I love cleaning and organizing.

I have lots of experience professionally caring for children, the elderly, and pets big and small.

I can work in your garden!
