About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Explore the USA and find an outlet for my loves of the outdoors and geology!
ABOUT ME
I love to sing, hike, read, make random stuff out of paper, and prefer to spend my time a) outdoors or b)being creative. I enjoy exploring the crazy, wonderful ways that the world works, whether on the level of human interactions or the physics of earth science. I'm currently applying to graduate programs in geology, and struggling to decide between studying planetary geology (tectonics and atmosphere on earth as compared to other objects in the solar system) or ancient climates and the lessons learned from them that we can apply to the present day. So I'm applying to both and seeing where that gets me! Related to my passion for geology, I'm an avid rock climber, and outdoor educator.
As for traveling, I've got an incurable case of wanderlust. There are few things I love more then picking a perfect spot in a new city or park and soaking up the sights, sounds, and smells of it. I'm always amazed by the stories and kindness of everyone I've met while traveling.
I can come across as quiet, but please know that I'm curious and whimsical underneath!
PHILOSOPHY
I'm endlessly curious about the world around me. Even if we disagree, I'd love to hear your opinion if you'll hear mine. Actually, especially if you disagree; a good debate keeps me on my toes!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At the moment I am living out of my car and a tent teaching natural science in California's parks, but hope to have a home that I can open up to couchsurfers soon.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: science fiction, adventure, fantasy
Movies: pretty much anything besides horror flicks and romantic comedies.
Music: Folk, pop, indie rock, bluegrass. After living in Nashville for 4 years, I have Country Music Stockholm Syndrome and will listen to it whenever I can find it on the radio.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Broke into song with my friends at the Jefferson Memorial and got escorted out by an park ranger, to raucous applause.
Added 26 meters to the length of the longest cave in the world while working at Mammoth Cave National Park last summer.
