Présentation
À propos de moi
I'm an artist/writer/adventurer who loves exploring remote places, often alone on a bike. I'm based in Seattle but have spent a lot of time working seasonally in Alaska and Antarctica. I've spent the last handful of years finishing a graphic novel about complicated family history in China/Hong Kong, which has kept me in one place far more than I like. But now that my book, Feeding Ghosts, is out in the world, I'm excited to get back out and connect with other curious wanderers! This is what I do if you're curious: https://tessahulls.com/home.html
I'm currently out on book tour and excited to connect with local couchsurfers in the cities I'm going to.
Pourquoi je suis sur Couchsurfing
I love the people that I meet through it. Sure, traveling is about seeing incredible places, but it's ultimately about the people, and Couchsurfing lends such a wonderful way to experience what home means to someone else. Community means a lot to me, and Couchsurfing has always given me a way to travel that makes me feel like I'm doing more than just passing through.
Centres d'intérêt
Making art, traveling by bike, backpacking, bikepacking, bouldering, climbing trees, bright colors, balancing things on my head, meeting new people, cooking, feeding people, going on picnics, sticking my hands in the dirt, social experiments, books books books and more books, building community, volunteering where I'm needed, textile design, other languages, parks, public libraries, I'm interested in most everything. I'm a very curious person.
Morceaux de musique, films et livres
That's an impossible question. I am a voracious reader and still have my childhood library card number memorized. I'll never be able to be a minimalist with no home base because I have four bookshelves.
Une aventure extraordinaire que j'ai vécue
I've somehow ended up with a side career giving illustrated lectures about female explorers in the early 1900s and don't know how I got this lucky.
Enseignez, apprenez, partagez
I love giving people personally tailored book recommendations! Hanging out with me basically means you're getting a very enthusiastic reference librarian whether you want one or not.
Ce que j'aimerais partager avec mes hôtes
I can feed you and fix your bicycle.
