About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Expanding my capacity to be alive

ABOUT ME

40ish woman in household with 2 men, 1 cat, part-time dogs, part-time 4 year old godson, and various other folks who come through our doors.

I have a few letters after my name that some say qualify me to teach sociology at University. I love the conversations we have and the cool stuff we get to learn about together.

Some of that stuff includes the self in modern society, consciousness, religion, sexuality, inequality..you know, the stuff that makes a lot of people either a bit uncomfortable or glazed over-Too fun!

I enjoy gardening when I enjoy gardening; which means our garden consists of plants that are true survivors.

I enjoy seeing and staying in new places. I spent 4 weeks in South Africa in 2005, 3 weeks in Brazil and 2 weeks in Peru in 2006, and 4 weeks in Cambodia and Vietnam in 2007. I have mainly traveled in the US and Mexico since then (and the birth of my godson).

I love sharing with people what matters about and to each of us. I savor discovering and exploring our commonalities and uniqueness.

I live in Colorado in part because I love the mountains, the outdoor opportunities, the people, and the location (good take off point for other destinations, near the southwest-one of my favorite regions, the sheer beauty, and the weather-I like seasons and sunshine).

Other draws to Colorado include the community of friends and loved ones here I call my tribe and the lifework opportunities that keep opening up and challenging me to be bigger and contribute more of myself.

PHILOSOPHY

Be curious and keep your eyes and heart open.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Primarily I participate as a host. I love to meet new people and share our interests and lives if only for an evening.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My housemates have had profiles up for years and so we have hosted numerous surfers over the last 4 years or so.

One of the best was a family from Poland who were working in the US traveling on vacation. Parents and 2 young daughters full of curiosity and adventure. What a hoot!

Interests

Spirituality, social and personal transformation, people of almost all varieties, hiking, camping, music, art, ideas, yoga, meditation, laughing, and all things life affirming.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't see many movies, love a variety of music and being introduced to new music, and books that come highly recommended by people I trust.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking the Inca Trail to Macchu Pichu...Amazing experience every step of the way. The journey was every bit rewarding as the final destination. Pure Magic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little something about hiking 14eers in Colorado and would love to improve my Spanish speaking for starters
