Overview
About Me
People say I'm a calm, easygoing and smiling person.
After a long overland trip in Europe and Asia in 2017 / 2018, without phone or air travel, I decided to settle in northern Vietnam and work in English teaching and tourism. I returned to France at the start of the Covid pandemic in 2020 after a 3-year absence.
After that, I've bought an old van and made it my home, continuing to travel around France and work in seasonal jobs in tourism, vineyards or animation.
I also recently made an other overland jouney to Turkey with Laura, my girlfriend, and we're now settled down in a house in the city center of Rabastens, a small town, 40km from Toulouse.
Currently I'm working on my own craft brewery with two other friends.
I love folk traditional dance and music, trekking, mountain, craft beers and role playing games.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Couchsurfing is a wonderful way to meet people from all over the world, find places to stay when traveling and discover a country culture directly from local. I've shared unforgettable moments.
I've used this community a lot in my travels, and now I want to give back all the wonderful hospitality I've received by hosting travelers myself. :)
Interests
I love mountain, nature, trekking, hitchhiking and craft beers.
I love to travel by land. Air travel is never the first thing on my mind. If I want to go somewhere, I imagine and plan everything I need to do to get there by land. Hitchhiking is my favorite means of transport, because it's random and you meet so many different people along the way. It's a really adventurous form of transport : you end up in places you hadn't planned to visit, talking to unexpected people, sometimes in unexpected vehicles!
In this philosophy, Couchsurfing is also part of the trip: meeting locals is, like hitchhiking, a great way to get to know and learn more about the culture. In youth hostels, you meet only other travelers.
I also love traveling by walk. I recently did several treks in France : The "Tour du Mont Blanc" in 10 days, the Stevenson Trail in a week and the GR20 in Corsica in 15 days.
About my other interests, I play diatonic accordion for years and dance a lot in folk bals and festivals. Music and dance are both synonyms of life and human contacts !
I also like to play in role playing games and board games with friends and I am an adept of LARP (Live Action Role Play).

Music, Movies, and Books
I listen a lot of traditional and folk music because it's linked to what I dance and I play but I am curious and I like a lot of other kinds of musics (world music, jazz, latino, rock, punk, etc.) Like in a lot of other domains I like mixing styles and originality.
I am always interested in the traditional music and dances of countries I visit.
I don't read a lot and prefer audio-books.
Movies I like : Children of Men, Layer Cake, Fight Club, Delicatessen, Los Viajes Del Viento, Memento, Snatch, La Haine, etc.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took part in a Kupala Night in 2017: a long night of traditional dancing and games around a big fire, on the banks of a river in Siberia. It was magical.
