About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To stop, hammertime.
ABOUT ME
I would like to claim to be an 'intellectual explorer' or a 'seasoned traveller' or something like that, but I'm just a friendly guy who likes to meet new people.
I always have creative projects on the go. Right now I'm actively podcasting, learning improvisational comedy, trying to get back into distance running and would be doing much more if my schedule allowed it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'd like to broaden my horizons and meet types of people who I wouldn't get the opportunity to interact with in my everyday life, either by hosting or by travelling.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first (and so far only) CouchSurfing experience was to visit Sergio and Susa in Madrid for the Zombie March in April 2011.
This experience totally opened my eyes to the world of CouchSurfing as I was, for the first time, allowed to see a new city through the eyes of two lovely and helpful locals. We ate together frequently, and they showed us their favourite local places. In turn, we showed them how to play some improvisational comedy games, which turned out to be hysterically funny.
After this experience I decided to finally sign up and become a participating member of the couchsurfing community!
Interests
I almost think it would be quicker to list the things I'm NOT interested in here! I am very engaged with the world and absolutely love discussions on almost any topic! I've always been particularly fascinated with science, humour, economics, art, music, philosophy and psychology.
More than anything else I love to learn from people, and value any time that I get to spend with interested, engaged people.

Music, Movies, and Books
Music is my radar and I'd be lost without my iPod in public. Artists I have recently enjoyed include: 65daysofstatic, Ghostland Observatory, Casiokids, Dan Deacon, Air, Maybeshewill, Jeffrey Lewis, Emily Bate, Loney Dear, Cold Cave, Hot Chip, Kid Loco, Mark Robinson, Lonely Drifter Karen, Ellen Allien, Keren Ann.
I read a lot, primarily non-fiction. Over the past few months I have read (or am reading): The Naked Jape (a study of joking and laughter), IMPRO (A guide to improvised theatre), The Hero With a Thousand Faces (A study of the mono-myth that underlies myths all over the world), and What Technology Wants (a book about the changing relations between humans and technology).
I wish that I had more time for films, my favourite one ever is Requiem for a Dream.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once watched a dog take a pee on an electric fence.
Teach, Learn, Share
Well, I am an astrophysicist, so if you need any profoundly useless knowledge about the cosmos I'm absolutely full of it.
