About Me
Straight up, this is all new to me. I am just learning about being a traveler verses a tourist. At 62 it's about time.
My first traveling trip was a five weeks in Peru. Just got back June 9, 2019. I learned about backpacking, hostels, eating at Central Markets, riding chicken buses and hand washing my clothes. I also learned about the community of travelers and couchsurfing. I'm onboard for it all. I am looking forward to meeting like minded people of all ages and attributes. Fun fun fun!
Things that excite me: Being a traveler, laughing together, not taking myself or others to serious, having good conversations, people-watching and learning from people, being immersed into new things, keep on wondering, exploring, looking at beautiful architecture, art and spending time in nature, creation, the unknown, poetry, dancing and singing!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am 62 years old and looking to explore life as never before. What better way to do that then to meet new people and experiencing new cultures?
A friend of mine, who I am traveling to Peru with, suggested couchsurfing. I was shocked when I learned that people around the world will happily and generously open their homes to travelers simply to get to know you and share their cultures. Incredible! I want to be one of those people.
