About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Rambling, writing, drawing and experiencing as many people and places as we can, with as much fun and goodwill as we can muster

ABOUT ME

I have been married about a year, and my wife and I are very excited about being part of www.couchsurfing.com. We look forward to meeting many awesome people, enjoying life with them, laughing, learning, helping and loving everyone. I am an artist, writer, poet, and lover of art and literature of every sort; I like to daydream and wander, play my guitar and read, and to keep my belly full I work on cars, but it's only fair to say that I love cars as well---too much sometimes! I am currently seeking to publish some of my children's books, and some various art pieces. I have a real weakness for old cars and motorcycles and bicycles, especially foreign ones, almost anything intricate and mechanical.

PHILOSOPHY

I seek to know how to love others better...to plumb the depths of charity and understanding. A philosophy? Love God first, then everyone, and myself too.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We have a couch, and lots of good food! We also know some of the great spots around the area for coffee, beer, hiking, sight-seeing, etc. Come visit us!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We couch-surfed in Florence with an amazing girl from New York, and I have slept in hallways and on floors, in fields and in cars more times than I can count.

Music, Movies, and Books

Brideshead Revisited, A Wizard of Earthsea, The Little Prince and a billion others; Bluegrass and American Folk, Chopin, Bach, Mozart, too much various rock to list---discovering new great artists and music all the time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After college I made a cross-country road trip with my brother from Spokane, WA to N.Y., N.Y. and home again. On the way saw many friends, slept in the car, climbed rocks and mountains and explored an abandoned subway in St. Louis. I had an amazing 10 days in Peru visiting a college buddy, and we rode a bus over the Andes to Cusco and Machu Picchu...breathtaking. I have driven California 1 from L.A. to Ft. Bragg, and prowled the depths of Death Valley. My college roommate and I climbed University Peak in the Eastern Sierras on a whim, and visited Seldom Seen Slim's grave in Death Valley. We just got back from a Honeymoon in Europe...England, France, Switzerland, Italy...too much to spell out here, you'll have to ask us about it when you get here.

Teach, Learn, Share

Well, I am an experienced auto mechanic and handyman, so if you have questions I would be glad to help wherever I can. If you are in my area and need a car worked on or a computer looked at or whatever, I'm here.
