ABOUT ME

After traveling the world in a submarine for the last few years, I recently moved to Europe for grad school. Over the last few years, I've lived in various parts of the mainland US, Hawaii, Japan, and now Milan.

PHILOSOPHY

I wanted movement and not a calm course of existence. I wanted excitement and danger and the chance to sacrifice myself for my love. I felt in myself a superabundance of energy which found no outlet in our quiet life.

Part John Locke and part Jack Kerouac. I try to balance short term joy, adventure, and excitement with a long term sense of accomplishment.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Traveling the world, and also having the world come to me. My schedule is pretty random, so ability to play host will be sadly sporadic. Also, I wouldn't mind visiting others on my own travels.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Surfing, sailing, hiking, politics and philosophy, world travel, math/science/engineering; learning Italian to get the most out of life here and Spanish for my possible next life's destination; attempting to learn to cook; training for a marathon (unfortunately I didn't get picked for Tokyo in 2014 or 2015). I suppose a list of my non-interests would be shorter.

Witnessed dolphins body-surfing in the bow wake of a submarine pulling into Pearl Harbor. Not a bad sight.
