ABOUT ME

I am a physical therapist who specializes in dizziness. I laugh really loud when I am happy.

I am VERY happily married to a sweet man (John) who is a financial planner with Edward Jones. We are both Christian and try to treat others as we would like to be treated. John and I met contradancing, which uses similar moves to square dancing but we are organized into long lines so that we can interact with many people per song.

Neither John nor I drink, smoke or do drugs at all. The exhilaration we get from dancing provides plenty enough "high" for us.

I grew up horseback riding, snow skiing, swimming. I own a horse (her name is "Milkshake" but she lives elsewhere, providing a safe mount to other girls growing up loving to ride her (she lives at a stable and is used for lessons and competitions).

PHILOSOPHY

I can do anything if I put my mind and effort into it. Personal responsibility is key to a contented. I get frustrated when folks whine about their own bad situations, blaming others or the government. I have chosen to pull myself up by my own bootstraps and made better choices to better my life rather than wallow in self pity.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Not sure what this question is asking. I tend to be a little shy in groups, I participate by serving (I will be the one volunteering to wash dishes at a dinner party and talk to passers by rather than in the middle of the living room entertaining a gaggle of people).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We are new to CouchSurfing. I have a little trepidation, as it is a bit "outside the box". I wouldn't have done it when I was single, but traveling with my husband, I think it would be a safe, interesting way to see the counties that we travel to more intimately, rather than the anonymity of hotels.

Interests

gardening, my animals (2 cats, 2 dogs and a horse), house remodeling (that takes up a lot of time, we own 12 rental houses plus our own personal residence). I used to have time to sew, quilt, paint, beadwork jewelry, cross stitch, but the rental houses have taken up all of my discretionary time

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch TV, so much more to do than to get sucked into sitting for hours in a semi-comotose state that the TV creates in me. We like to rent a movie on Friday nights and I tend to like adventures, mysteries, or comedy. I abhor horror films or crass sit coms.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the full moon in Yosemite valley, the rocks shone like mirrors!

Watching manta rays feed at night while snorkeling in Hawaii, we were close enough to touch the gentle giants

Teach, Learn, Share

Get out of debt, save money, give generously, live on less than you make, don't hold money with a clenched fist, learn to save up and pay for things without going into debt. It feels amazing.
