About Me

I love English, translation, interpreting, drama, teaching, tea, travelling, and whatnot. Surrounded by English in a Spanish country, thinking like a Brit.

I think I may be a bit of an English freak/geek because I really like every single accent of the English language- though I do have my favourites-.

Don´t get me wrong by saying this, but I think I have an inquisitive mind, if I find something I don´t know I can´t wait to find out more about it. Did curiosity really kill the cat? It might´ve not cared about the possibility of dying because it knew it was worth losing 1 of its many lives in order to become more knowledgeable.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people from all over the world, exploring new cultures and hopefully while doing so, learning new languages and making new friends.

I´d almost dare to say that travelling slows down the ageing process, and if possible, take your time to get lost in the city/place that you´re in.

Interests

Languages, travelling, reading, music, films, basketball, vegan dishes, yoga, interpreting, translation... (for some strange reason CS won´t let me update my interests so I have to explain them under the field of "More about my interests", hence why there´s only 1 tag that reads t8n meaning translation)

Music, Movies, and Books

I love indie music but I enjoy most music styles.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well... to me that´d have to be the first time that I travelled on my own, I went to Edinburgh.

I had to take several planes and get some of the plane tickets at one of the airports, putting into practice my foreign language skills, then take several buses until I arrived to the home of my host family (though I had to pay for the stay because it wasn´t CS and I wasn´t really on holiday). This made me fall in love with travelling, the family was so welcoming and caring, they were used to having people from all over the world... they even had a guest book!!! It outdid my expectations and I think CS will almost surely bring more great memories like those.

I consider it an amazing experience because it allowed me to meet so many great people and at first I didn´t know much about the family I was staying with.

Teach, Learn, Share

I really enjoy sharing what I know. Oftentimes, when I take a course, people think that I´m a teacher, mostly, I reckon, because I like "teaching", but not as a "teaching because you´re a know-it-all" but rather out of pure pleasure.

I´d say I relish in anything that has to do with language learning and since language is a means of communication it can lead to any topic.
