About Me

My place is two hours away from Zhangjiajie. If you want to stay with me and travel back and forth between the two scenic spots in Zhangjiajie, Neither the time nor the transportation cost is a good option. I can provide that you can come to me before you arrive in Zhangjiajie, and I can tell you everything about Zhangjiajie in detail. Besides, I especially welcome those who have extra time to explore the Tujia and Miao cultures. I can take you to some places without tourists. I'm basically a guide to the Tujia and Miao cultures. Also, I warmly welcome those who want to explore the additional scenic spots in Zhangjiajie. All the scenic spots in my photo album are free to enter. Welcome everyone to come to me for a cup of coffee or do something else. I can take you to eat some local food, and then you can go to Zhangjiajie smoothly. It's especially suitable for friends from the south.

Zhangjiajie & Wuling Mountains = unique Tujia/Miao minority area. Thousands of years of different culture disappearing fast under modernization. We are probably the last generation who can still see it. If you are a real traveler and we meet in person, I’ll open the hidden doors:
Local way to visit every spot in Zhangjiajie
Free secret trails + wild off-tourist routes
Mind-blowing mountain roads & views no guidebook has
All the local myths, legends, history, and movie filming locations

Beyond the sites: I’d love to show you real Tujia culture before it disappears

Highlights:
Shuangfeng Village – the very first Tujia village that ever opened to outsiders
Laosi Cheng (Old Sicheng) – UNESCO World Heritage ancient Tujia capital → whc.unesco.org/en/list/1474/
Liye – site of China’s largest Qin Dynasty bamboo-slip discovery (37,000+ slips, 2,200 years old) → en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liye_Qin_Slips
More off-the-grid villages & sites depending on time
Stunning rugged mountains, authentic minority culture, zero tourist crowds – and everything is free if you follow my plan :)

My Location: Furong Town / Yongshun County
Also happy to go deep into real Tujia culture.

If you're coming from the south (like Guangzhou/Hong Kong), you'll first arrive in my area before heading to Zhangjiajie.

As for the part about me

I Born Zhangjiajie, studied journalism in university, and worked for several Chinese media outlets more than 8 years, during which time visited most Chinese cities. After leaving the media industry, explored China extensively by motorcycle and car, and in recent years has been living in both Changsha and Yongshun
(My international travels were more than ten years ago, so I haven’t spoken English for quite a while. Please forgive my rusty English if you don’t speak Chinese.)
