ABOUT ME

I'm a 20-something young professional living, working, and playing in Pittsburgh. I am originally from New England, had a long stint in the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area, and moved to the Steel City for college several years ago. I studied accounting and econ at Pitt, but also was a few courses shy of a music degree. Like many, my interests span far and wide across the spectrum.

I am a tax whiz, a karaoke fiend, and a tea lover. I also love the occasional trashy reality series (hey, we all have guilty pleasures).

PHILOSOPHY

Do good things, be good to people, live without regret. I live for the experiences and relationships interspersed throughout each day.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm new to the surfing concept, but I'm looking forward to hosting, being hosted, and showing people around town. I learned Pittsburgh as an outsider during college, so I definitely have love for helping others experience the Steel City!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've actually never couchsurfed! I heard about it from some friends who've done it, and I love the idea of meeting new people and fostering travel on the cheap.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm all over the map on this stuff, so here are some general preference guidelines:

Music-- Alternative, Progressive, Classical, Classic Rock, Blues, etc.

Movies-- Netflix gives me recommendations in the categories of "Emotional Political Documentaries" and "Critically-acclaimed Cerebral Movies" if that gives any indication.

Books-- Generally I prefer non-fiction on dorky topics (e.g. I love Freakonomics), but am well-read on the classics and enjoy some quirky fiction writers (Vonnegut, Paluhniuk, Danielewski, etc.) as well.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I rode a camel through the Sahara at sunrise. Glistening sand, shifting dunes. . .it was quite possibly the most amazing thing I've ever experienced.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can generally cook pretty well and am happy to share my skills. The same goes for the guitar.
