About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet interesting people, get in adventures, and do some good along the way!

ABOUT ME

I haven't hosted since before the pandemic, but used to host quite a bit in New Orleans and New York. I met some really amazing people, and I'm looking to meet more while traveling! I've worked abroad as a doctor in Ecuador, Haiti, Mozambique, Rwanda, and the Democratic Republic of Congo, and I'm getting ready for my first Doctors Without Borders (MSF) mission since the pandemic! Because I don't know where they will send me, and because missions are typically 6-9 months, I'm getting some traveling out of my system while brushing up on both my Portuguese and French. I'll be in Portugal for 3 weeks in May/June, and France for 3 weeks in September, taking language lessons and trying to make some friends before I need to live in a compound in the desert/jungle/war zone or wherever they put me :)

After working in New York during the pandemic, I moved back to New Orleans, the city that has my heart. I love live music, festivals, weird/underground/bohemian cultures, and there's no better place for those things than New Orleans! And to satisfy my urge to meet people from other cultures, I actually own a Bed and Breakfast in an old house near the French Quarter that I run with one of my best friends and my mother. Come visit!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've made lifelong friends and incredible memories from my time using couchsurfing, both hosting and meeting people traveling abroad. So while I'm finally in a place in my life that I can afford to not stay in 12-person room hostels, I still want to meet interesting people that can show me what the heart of their city is really like! I always made it my mission while hosting to give people an authentic experience, whether in New Orleans and New York, and I'm looking for the same: show me what makes your city, country, and culture special!
