About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To set the world on fire through the power of ideas

ABOUT ME

I think it's a good idea to surf at night. I once planned an entire trip around watching the sun rise over the Atlantic and set over the Pacific on the same day. I think time is equally well spent drawing alone in the wilderness, engaging in stimulating conversation with a group of friends in a funky bohemian cafe or dancing on a rooftop in a loud Hollywood club. One of the highlights of travelling the world is trying new kinds of cheese. I get giddy everytime I stand in a place I have only read about, especially places where incredible events took place.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is that life is a beautiful, wonderous gift. It is an opportunity to experience everything the world has to offer and in so doing allow each of us to learn and strive and grow. Plus, it's a whole hell of alot of fun.

Interests

I'm kind of across the board here. Art and writing are my overriding passions, but that's what I also do for a living so I don't know if that counts. In terms of activities I love to snowboard, kitesurf, and dance (swing and salsa, mostly). I spend alot of time reading, going out to museums and quirky coffee shops. I'm obsessed with history which is the driving force behind my desire to travel the world. I enjoy switching up from cozy dive bars to crazy Hollywood hot spots just to keep things interesting. I could spend three hours in an intese debate about quantum physics. I practice a variety of martial arts and with whatever spare time I have left I work on brushing up on languages I want to learn.

Music, Movies, and Books

FILM: Hmm, I'm obsessed with movies. It's what I do, so my passion for the subject is legion. My favorites are the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, Seven Samurai, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Casablanca, the Indiana Jones Trilogy, and 50 or so more, so I'm going to stop before I give myself a headache.
MUSIC: Again I'm all over the map, but I really don't like country.
BOOKS: This is another one of my obsessions. I read two or three books a week. My favorite is George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire series. Some of my other top faves are The Power of Now by Eckart Tolle, God's Whisper, Creation's Thunde: Echoes of the Ultimate Reality in the New Physics, Stranger in a Strange Land, Art of War, Focault's Pendulum, The Prince, Hero With A Thousand Faces, the Memory, Sorrow and Thorn trilogy, older Stephen King stuff, Errol Flynn's autobiography My Wicked, Wicked Ways...I could keep going but you get the idea.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Probably the most amazing thing I have ever done was being part of the party in Times Square for the millenium. It didn't look like much on television, Paris looked much cooler on camera, but being there was a whole other story. If you've never been, Times Square is like an X of two intersecting streets, and it is like a mini, urban canyon of buildings. What made it so special is that all of us there were a part of the celebration, we didn't just watch it. The fireworks erupted over our head to create a rooftop of bright, colerful flame while light reflected of millions of peices of confetti. It was great because around us were people who had travelled the entire world to be there, from Munich to Belize, Tokyo to Brazil and everywhere in between. Everyone there celebrating one moment in time. That was pretty keen.

Teach, Learn, Share

I want to learn everything, and I try to pick something up from everyone I meet. So whatever you have to offer I'm game. As for me I'm pretty well versed in art technique if you want some tips on the trade. If you have any questions about anything else I know about feel free to ask.
