CURRENT MISSION
learn everything about everything.
ABOUT ME
i've grown up in the palouse region of WA. i just love being part of the world and think being a human is a FANTASTIC species to be. when my bike mechanic job ends (october) i will send my bike to florida and bike to mississippi to live for a bit with a good friend and then up to chicago to hang out with my brother for a while.
PHILOSOPHY
i'm trying to remember. many times lately i think, "I want humans to live FOREVER" which means that eventually we're going to have to get off the planet. so i think that hopefully i can somehow make a tiny movement to help our species live forever. sometimes i just feel like looking at things.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
i kind of just started with couchsurfing.org although i've been on the giving and receiving end of unofficial couchsurfing for years. i hope to couchsurf/wwoof/work my way around the country this upcoming winter and learn about people/places all over via couchsurfing.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
living in college towns there are always vagabonds that plop on the couch and sometimes we sit and talk and it's mellow and drink hot things in the winter. sometimes the meeting of friendly surfers ignites raucous parties where by the end the forest has been traversed, we've gone for a swim, and the downstairs living room ends up 1 foot deep of Fall's leaves...and then we wake up and walk around town with tired grins on our faces
Interests
ALLLL things. biology and the sciences in general - mycology(especially mycorhizzae and orchid fungi), entomology(espcecially hymenoptera including orchid bees), orchids, plants and growing them, animals, bacteria, technology, agriculture, people, etc. i don't know. anything can be interesting i just haven't got around to looking at it all yet. i think wikipedia is FANTASTIC! because it's free information that anyone can access, anyone anywhere can access nearly infinite information regardless of wealth, social class, ethnicity, etc.

Music, Movies, and Books
tv- planet earth, life, how i met your mother, curb your enthusiasm, arrested development, the league. i recently read the superorganism (it's on ants and it's fantastic!), i just read The Beak of the Finch(it's on "darwin's finches" and evolution. also fantastic), currently reading Electrons Energy and Change (or something like that, it's kinda dull so far). i listen to whatever is playing
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
i went to burningman for the first time this last september and it was incredible. it inspires people to be human and to be good.
