I am an English as a Second language teacher from Columbus, Ohio. I have taught at 3 universities in Ohio including Ohio State, and I have also taught and administered a children's ESL program in rural Cambodia for 6 months. With my Masters in teaching ESOL, I want to teach abroad and help local educators use effective teaching practices. I have a very loving and supportive family in Columbus, including two older brothers, a massive long-haired black cat, and an old german shepherd.
When I'm not working, I am frequently with my friends from church or my family. I'm up for pretty much anything- sports, board games, movies, concerts, bars, etc. For fun, I am currently learning to use nun-chucks!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm doing a lot of traveling for trainings and conferences I'm taking as I prepare to depart to serve cross-culturally in Cambodia long-term. I'd love to meet some friendly local people while I'm traveling, instead of staying in expensive hotels. I am raising funds for the work I intend to do in Cambodia, so I'm trying to live as frugally as possible.

I made the first ever library book collection of a minority ethnic group language in Cambodia called Cham.
