About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet/surf with some awesome people in Europe and make some crazy memories !

ABOUT ME

Hi I'm Curtis and I'm a nurse but one day I wish I could give it all up and become a handsome billionaire/batman. Until that day comes you can find me drinking beer, listening to good music, and hanging out with my friends. I'm fascinated by the world. That's the main reason why I'm on this site, to see as much of it and meet as many of the people that frequent it as possible. I love exploring, often I will get lost in Wikipedia/YouTube wormholes and discover the most interesting things. I like to think that by filling your head with random facts you can expand your mind, even though the facts may seem pointless. I enjoy a good pun, friendly people, I love to dance and I hate reality TV.

PHILOSOPHY

I once heard this quote from someone in the boys locker room during gym class in high school, since then it has become my mantra. "Life is just one big joke, you choose to make it a good one or a bad one"

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to think of myself as a classic Canadian. Friendly, polite, says sorry a lot, loves the outdoors, beer, Tim Horton's, and crazy adventures. I hope to extend my ambassadorship to everyone I meet and make some lifelong memories and friends in the process.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I first heard about Couchsurfing when I struck up a conversation with these two German girls I saw on the local metro. The idea seemed shocking at first, but I realized there is really no better way to travel. Meeting new, interesting people, staying in their homes and experiencing first-hand what life is like in the city, instead of falling victim to a tourist trap.

I have experienced both hosting people in my home and surfing with others and have had only positive experiences with the couchsurfing community :) You guys are the best! I have hosted 6 people for varying degrees of time at my home and have made some great friends. I hope to make more this spring when I travel to Asia to explore.

Interests

I like swimming, dancing, going out on the town, drinking, playing guitar, good music, reading, travelling, biking, wakesurfing, beach combing, hiking, getting lost and having to rely on my hopeless sense of direction, learning new things, eating great food, Youtube, and cats. I love cats and own a ridiculous number of cat shirts, but I also love dogs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Once I ate an entire pizza. I travelled to Spain on an exchange program and watched a real live jousting tournament on castle grounds. I have been to Norway and marvelled at the majestic fjords, I've high-fived the prime minister and jumped off a few waterfalls.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about my country, some random but useful facts, and can recommend some excellent YouTubers you should subscribe too. I can share some great travel stories, and hopefully we will make some even better ones together!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you guitar, cook you a meal, clean up dishes, or teach you some fun Canadian drinking games :)
